Professor Haibo Ge, Ph.D.

Principal Investigator

Haibo Ge received his Ph.D. degree in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Kansas in 2006, and then moved to The Scripps Research Institute for postdoctoral study. In 2009, he began his independent academic career at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis, and relocated to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University in 2020. Research in his group is mainly focused on the development of novel methods for carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bond formation through transition metal catalyzed C-H functionalization.

Chong Liu, Ph.D.

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Chong Liu got his B.S. and M.S. degrees at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Next, he received his PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2021 (supervisor: Wanbin Zhang). Then, he joined in Professor Haibo Ge’s group in Texas Tech University for his postdoctoral research. His research interests focus on transition-metal catalyzed C−H functionalization and asymmetric synthesis methodology.
