Mission
The Ge group specializes in the development of transition metal catalyzed C-H functionalization methodology via the activation of relatively inert C-H bonds. Most notably, our group employs a transient directing group strategy utilizing relatively inexpensive and readily available materials for the construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds, often resulting in highly site-selective transformations and simple procedures. Ultimately, our objective is to facilitate the discovery and laboratory preparation of valuable molecules and to further mankind’s understanding of chemical reactivity.
